Well I haven't yet returned from my trip but I have completed the Shanghai portion so I though I would post my impressions of the 4 Season's property as promised.

The first thing I must say is that the hotel is not yet completed.

When I left the Hotel on May 2 there was only one restaurant out of four that was up and running (The Buffet restaurant on the Lobby level). There are scheduled to be a Chinese gormet restaurant, a Japanese restaurant and a Steak house. I believe the Chinese restaurant was doing "dry runs" and was the scheduled to open in the very near future.

The Lobby lounge was open but the top floor jazz club and Executive Lounge were not.

Guestrooms were finished and available to the 24th floor and are being completed on floors 25-35. Guestrooms are spacious and well appointed (I had a corner suite which curiously only looked out in one direction).

Staff are a strong point, they are very eager to please and do a good job. I would especially commend the concierge desk for their professionalism and poise.

All things said, I think it will be a fine hotel, but those traveling in the immediate future should be aware of the current limitations. (they seemed very willing to provide some rate discounts at this time).

FYI-The hotel is located in roughly the same area as the Portman Ritz-Carlton (huge for a Ritz) and the JC Mandarin(didn't get to see it) If anyone has any specific questions please post and I will try to respond as soon as possible.
