Thanks for the advice. I haven't decided on which sleeping compartment to use. How does the T2 double compare to the Excelsior cabin? Also, with whom did you book the Paris-Italy train. I was quoted a price of $320 per person for the Excelsior cabin, which seems a bit steep compared with your T2 price. Finally, does the train depart Paris around 7pm and is it direct (with no transfers)? I can't seem to find any schedules of it on the internet.
