The Qantas frequent flyer program is very poor. If you live in USA a frequent flyer program of a USA based airline will be better. Look at post 330 here

What other USA based frequent flyer programs can you transfer to?
Don't be sucked in by a bonus offer to a poor ffp.
Frequent flyer miles are not equal to earn or burn.

Is there a way to see how many points + cash or just points on that site?
Seems like you have to pay to join to get access using classic flight rewards??
Is that correct?
Does this refer to Qantas ffp?
Only Aust & NZ people need to pay to join the QF ffp. No cost for others.
You need to join the QF ffp to use QF points.
QF have high cash surcharges on most award flights.
