Hello All, when an airline says I can 'through check-in', does that mean I can't leave the 'secured' airport area? I will have a 7 hour layover at NRT and thought I might either visit Narita City or explore the mall area of NRT Terminal 1.

Can I do either if I have a 'through check-in'? I am connecting from ITM to NRT to LAX.
