Manchester-bound train sent to Coventry

A train bound for Manchester ended up in Coventry after a signalman sent it down the wrong track.

More than 300 passengers on the London Euston to Manchester, via Rugby, service were heading towards the midlands city when the error was spotted.

Virgin Trains said a signalman had made a mistake in routing the 9.40am service via Coventry - 110 miles from its intended destination.

I hope heads rolled over this!
