A friend of mine booked one way flight for 11,736 points two days ago. Today the website is showing that same flight as bookable for 11,448. However, when he goes in to process the price drop it then shows at 12,456 points.
The only time I have heard of this happening is when there were multiple passengers booked on the reservation (and only one seat available at the lower price). This is NOT the case.
I know it is only a few points but I feel bad because I was the one who urged him to go ahead and book early (assuming he would be able to get back any price drops).
Anyone know of any other scenarios which cause this?
IME, this happens from time-to-time when prices have recently or will recently change - the initially shown price can go up or down on the next screen.
I suspect that checking the same fare in several hours will show the price consistently through.
