The agent on the phone could only see "US Taxes" in the amount of 3454 ZAR. I'm waiting for a breakdown by email or a callback from the fares department.

3454 - 283 (what my friend was charged in tax difference for the same change) = 3171 ZAR, about 146 GBP at today's rate... the exact amount of UK APD, just like cyphillm3 was saying above.
