I can also see the utility of a transcon whenever you see a good fare. One advantage of being on a coast.
Unfortunately, I'm on the wrong coast this summer (SFO) and am at an internship where I can't take any days off work. It's probably for the better though, since this "death by a thousand cuts" approach is definitely not ending soon.
