I'm only an irregular visitor to this forum, travelling waaaaay down the back on most of my BA flights.
I returned from a very enjoyable week in Montréal on Monday, flying in WT on BA94, which was about as bearable as can be as expected. The short 5h45m flying time from west to east prompted this idea.
BA94 is one of about two dozen short overnight flights from thirteen cities to LHR which offers
the Club World Sleeper Service. Although full service airline dogma dictates that behind the curtain, everyone in Y gets drinks, an evening meal and a breakfast snack, wouldn't short ( < 6 hours in this case) overnight flights back to LHR be better served the other way round? I.e. a departure drink and prepackaged cold snack from the cart, followed by a long pause to sleep, and then a full breakfast 90 minutes from landing?
It took a good two hours to serve the entire cabin, clear the detritus and dim the lights. We were then woken just two hours later to be handed a pointless little breakfast box with a bready croissant.
Any thoughts?
