I'm guessing you actually sat on the aircraft on the parking
apron, before it taxied along the
taxiways to reach the
runway (from where you take off or land).
Yes, I'm being pedantic, but so many people don't seem to know the difference (including many journalists when reporting on aircraft incidents).
