Sorry for the explanations, but I'd rather hear from you experienced guys rather than balls everything up! I am a simpleton!

You want to get it corrected BEFORE you board the aircraft. If your boarding pass does not show your BA number, walk up to any gate agent and have them add it and reprint your boarding pass until it shows up. This will save you a lot of headache in case your TP do not post correctly. You will have the boarding passes as proof.
