There aren't quite identical. The seat upholstery is completely differed (I favor AA in that aspect as I hate pleather, especially for sleeping). The seat on AA is controlled via a touchscreen which is a bit buggy and unintuitive, would prefer the standard buttons DL has. Tray table design is different, I found the AA design much worse.

Yes, they did a great job... 4-6 years ago. The product is already dated and to be honest was never that good to begin with. It only seemed good because of what it replaced. The unfortunate thing for Delta is that they seem to want to keep these planes around longer and in larger numbers than the other airlines mentioned.
