I bought one with a return to AGS, so I could theoretically drop that leg. And unlike some other destinations, there's no way to be rerouted to AGS on DL without going through ATL, so a pretty safe bet.

I was able to book YYZ-AMS-DUS-FCO-JFK-ATL-AGS for US$1564.

For whatever reason, I wasn't able to make the open jaw work with a US departure point, but the YYZ departure was fine. I guess maybe it was a HIP check, as the ex-Canada fares don't have it.

Aside from being cheaper, the Canada fares also were more flexible and had more routing opportunities, no HIP check, and allowed 2 stopovers.
