Looks like whole industry appear to be moving towards this model. AA just announced that they are going with $$ paid to calculate your miles instead of actual miles flown. Since my flight from/to LAX would be around 4700 miles, I would have gotten that much before, but now since I paid only about $400 round trip INCLUDING tax and fees, I would barely get 1750 miles now, not even HALF.
