I guess that makes sense, although YUL-YYZ has enough flights such that if I happen to misconnect, I wouldn't worry too much about getting onto a later flight.

Just a heads-up: your luggage will be off-loaded in YUL also. Be prepared to leave some room in your checked bags - if you have bought Duty Free booze in GVA or on board, you'll have to put it into your checked luggage for the YUL - YYZ leg, as you cannot bring it back on board as cabin baggage (the ol' 100ml rule we know and love so well...).
