I always wonder how the person/canine on the other end of the conversation feels. I'd be mortified if someone called me under those circumstances. If it were a video call, I hope I'd be observant enough to notice the lack of earphones and be prompt in making my excuses, but you can't be 100% sure about speakerphone... If I found out that someone had put me in that position without telling me, I'd die of embarrassment.
