irishguy28 is absolutely right, although he's slightly... wrong: you can always access the A3 lounge in the Schengen area (or the LH one next door), both are much better than the Swissport one in the non-Schengen part of the terminal. Just go to immigration briefly before boarding. At any rate, don't worry, nobody at the A3 lounge will kick you out! I've stayed there once for ~5 hours (missed my connection), but 8 hours? No, I don't think that I'd be willing to do it, independent of who my mate would be!
