I flew out of Treviso to HHN last week and it now ranks as the worst airport I've ever been to. There are separate boarding areas but ours was a large warehouse-type room, with 5 "gates" (looked like garage doors that go up and down) and about 40 seats around the perimeter of the room for probably 500 people in the space. No carpet, either. Just one huge large concrete bunker for everyone to stand in or sit on the concrete floor.
There were also about 4 points you had to pass through to get to this room. I don't know why we had to keep showing our passport and boarding passes so many times, both before, at, and after the security machines.
Very, very little in the way of edible food or drink. Just an awful physical place.
