Howdy folks,
I've read elsewhere on the forum that the 'Y' prefix (like YF, etc) refers to a car whose class is unreservable, meaning you can only get it by upgrading at the counter when picking it up.
I'd like to reserve a Dodge Charger or Challenger, but of course both are YF. The last time I tried to do this I made a full size (F) reservation and tried to upgrade at the counter, but had to pay another $320 to get it for a week. 5* status didn't help with this
This time, I'd like to reserve a high enough class that I can "downgrade" to the Charger or Challenger without having to pay extra at the location. Is this a sensible stategy, and if so, do I need to reserve one class up (Premium/G) or higher? (Luxury/I)?
Thanks!
