We're also talking about YVR in Feb. We *might* actually have snow this year. That said, I live about a block from the OPUS and I must say that although the hotel looks funky and the doormen are cute, you do have to put up with some noise especially over the weekend. The hotel has literally no view. Heck, I can see the rooms and bathrooms from my balcony!

A nice hotel that people do forget about is the Wedgewood. It's small but cozy. It was Goldie Hawn's favourite hotel when she was a visitor to Vancouver. (Now she's a resident).
