Personally, I think the Opus is overrated. It has more hype than substance, and is certainly not close to what one will consider a luxury or even a deluxe hotel.

I appreciate more modern decor, as opposed to more traditional, but the Opus is trying to be something it can never be. While it is hip and new, and fun, it's not the Park Hyatt Paris-Vendome, nor the St. Martin's Lane, not even the Hudson....

You can give the Opus a try for a night's stay, and that will be more than sufficient for this property.

The Pan Pacific, OTOH, is a deluxe hotel, but it's also aged. Service is much better than the Opus. The location is more "central" than the Yale Town location of Opus. But caution that the Pan Pacific appeals mostly to older straight couples.
