My partner and I stayed at the Opus in August and we loved it-- we can't wait to go back. The hotel is only about a year old and has beautiful contemporary design. We did not have any problem with noise. The staff was friendly and efficient and the concierge gave us excellent suggestions for restaurants. The location, in the Yaletown part of Vancouver, is convenient for everything and Yaletown itself is Vancouver's "Soho" with many interesting shops, cafes and restaurants.

The Pan Pacific is a good hotel and is right on the water near the cruise ship terminal. It is a very large hotel and in my opinion has a bit of a convention hotel feel. The rooms are nice but do not compare with the Opus.

As you can tell, I have a clear preference for the Opus over the Pan Pacific.
