For getting to the airport at 6am, I would almost always pre-book a taxi the night before. It costs $8 SGD, but it beats trying to find a taxi at 5.30 am, which can be difficult at times - especially if there's a down pour, and there is basically zero other transport options at that time.
Would that advice hold for a 7:40am too? I feel like leaving at 6-6:15 (from the Westin) would still leave me with enough time to go through security, etc, but I'd prefer not to eat the S$8. How's Uber in SIN?
