Incidentally, the AUP offer I got for J to F for the SIN leg was very similar - £649, I think. I declined given that was nearly 40% of the cost of the total trip! Ex-EU pricing certainly makes you reassess the term 'value for money'.

Now, the good news is you're not actually missing much in Sydney at the moment - torrential rain fanned by gale force winds in a wind tunnel. The hotel umbrella was turned inside out within five seconds this morning, but I think the Concierge has forgiven me for completely ignoring his advice to stay inside now ...
