Food is indeed much improved. I had the pork belly which was actually yummy! Almost asked for seconds.

Now in the B-lounge which I think is about as peaceful as the CCR and about as nice. At least at par with the FLounge*. Add to that a B gates arrival and C gates departure with the easiest security check ever and I am a happy camper. Will probably do the wrong thing and sleep most of the LHR-SIN sector. I am dead.

Was offered (upon request) a AUG to F for £619 but when I said yes it had disappeared... Slumming it in 59A therefore.

Update: no babies in the first row of WTP (yes!!) and the seat has the 747UD feel to it. Seat next to me seems to remain free. I may even like it better than I remembered... Quite comfy actually. Maybe more so than QR... Glad the AUG didn't go through.

One annoying thing is that they override the divider controls and I made a fool of myself trying to lift and lock it manually. Lift works. Lock doesn't.

* gives you guys something to fight over while I am flying.
I really liked the B lounge. You are right about it having a more tranquil feel. I think that the occasional traveller forgets it exists and the world just heads to the A lounges. The trek to B is worth the effort for it not feeling like a zoo.
