I actually have more of a technical question about this than anything else. As an aside, living with my partner for over 5 years, we certainly consider ourselves married even if the state does not.

Basically we seem to be talking about a customs declaration here aren't we. Although I am a citizen I worked for an international airline quite a few years ago and remember some of this. Every person individually has to fill in an I-94 (or I-94W) depending on what country your passport is issued in. Then the customs dec can be filled out only once and include the # of family members on it. I was just checking online and it seems they have changed the customs decs. I seem to recall that the old ones (the white ones) had small print that defined a family as anyone living at the same address. I remember when my partner and I first met we used to joke that we should move in together so we could save on the paperwork on our trips!

Am I wrong about this and just losing my memory in my old age or did they change this recently.
