Both with Avis Preferred and Hertz No. 1 Club Gold, domestic partners are AUTOMATICALLY covered as approved and covered drivers under the "Master Agreements." You don't need to do anything at the time of rental. The agreements define domestic partners in a way that would apply to most of us--you have to reside in the same house, etc. I cannot speak for either Hertz or Avis if you are not enrolled as preferred members. But since its free, why not sign up?
