This isn't anything I would recommend, since I am in the "do the trip as booked" brigade. But yes if you bought a separate ticket LHR to DUB and presented your arriving First ticket to CCR they should let you in. I guess there is a risk that an agent will not let you in because of your connection, but I would see that as being unlikely on the whole.
