In Tokyo, I don't typically do Michelin places or those legendary sushi places people talk about on Chowhound, so this may not meet your expectations. And my kaiseki experience is limited in Tokyo. But the one kaiseki place I know and like in Tokyo is Tofutei in Gajoen, which is a wedding/banquet complex in Meguro. They're open everyday. Lunch courses are much cheaper than dinner. Gajoen is just a really nicely-designed venue like no other, and it's just a very nice setting. The food is very good, but then again I'm kind of an idiot when it comes to this type of fine dining.
