Dropping final leg of Ex-EU but still travelling a similar route?

Hello everyone,

I am soon due to travel DXB-LHR/LCY-DUB as the return portion of my itinerary. At the time of purchase I hadn't been too concerned about the airport change (I have just under 4 hours between scheduled arrival and departure), but as the date approaches I'm feeling I'd rather avoid the hassle and stay within LHR. I called up to price a ticket change but it was prohibitively expensive, as I had suspected. Should have booked the LHR connection at the time!!

My question is, if I now purchase a separate ticket LHR-DUB-XXX and use that on the same day instead of completing my LCY-DUB portion, do you expect I'll have any problems with check-in or indeed lounge access (I'll be in F for the international leg so I'd be heading for the CCR)? I believe a separate PNR shouldn't be a problem but I just wondered how much detail they would check on my ticket? Don't want to be "that person" sent away from the Special Door and off to LCY hanging my head in shame!!

Thanks in advance,

Chumpsteak.
