Hi all,

I have Premier Platinum status with United, and have to travel from LAX to Montreal a lot over the next year, almost once ever few weeks. My platinum status gets me a decent number of upgrades to business class when flying on United metal. What should I do to get upgraded frequently on Air Canada planes (which offer the only direct route)? Am I better off buying tickets on the United site for the AC codeshare? Will I ever get upgraded doing this? Should I buy on the AC site and put the miles toward my UA account? Or forget UA altogether and just start earning miles and status on AC?
