Yes - other articles says "the first and the coming 4 if contractual deadline is not met"

And exactly.
Airbus was quoted saying "A320neo have some delay, especially for our launch customers, ..." which seemed to be a polite way of saying that if you accept to be launch customer, there might be some unforseen delays or issues that you need to deal with.
