OP's routing is ZIH-LAX-SEA; international should get up to 24 hrs before it's considered a stopover ... my wife and I were faced with an 8+hr maintenance delay on our scheduled NRT-LAX; no hassle at all in getting rerouted NRT-SEA arriving ~10am, then departing SEA-LAX ~830am the next day
