1. What is most important to you in a frequent flyer program (FFP)?
upgrades, priority services, baggage allowance, good award redemption rates, better award access, lounge access, etc.
>>> Reply: Upgrades and Priority services. Lounge access would be a plus.
2. How many miles do you usually fly each year? How many flights/sectors?
less than 25000 miles, 50000+ miles and 20-25 flights, etc.
>>> Reply: Between 20k-25k miles per year
3. What fare class do you usually buy?
first, business, premium economy, economy
>>> Reply: Cheapest Economy
4. Are you able to choose your airlines and/or class of service? Do you travel for work and/or pleasure?
>>> Reply: Yes, I fly for leisure only out of my own pocket.
5. Which routes do you fly most often?
transatlantic, domestic USA, intra-Asia, etc.
>>> Reply: I fly mostly within Asia and 1 flight per year to Washington DC (IAD/DCA).
6. What is your home airport?
>>> Reply: SIN.
7. Do you have status in any FFP? What is it? How miles do you have banked in each FFP, if any?
>>> Reply: I earned my MH Gold (Oneworld Sapphire) via flying 50 sectors per calendar year and accumulated 71k miles so far. However I'll be flying lesser and lesser next year onwards to reduce cost so may not be able to earn any status. I status matched to AZ Gold and O6 Gold which would expire in 2017 or 2018 I think.
8. What are your preferred airlines, if any?
>>> Reply: I have no preferred airlines but so far I've been flying mostly MH (you can check my flightdiary in the signature). My credit card points are usually transferred to SQ or CX to redeem for flights in business class.
My one flight per year to Washington DC is about 20k miles roundtrip so was thinking to bank on that to getting some useful status with an FFP. From SIN, I could do positioning flights to CGK, KUL, HKG, BKK, etc.. if needed. My one flight per year to Washington DC is a must, any other flights elsewhere are extras...
Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks.
