My itinerary is SIN(Singapore)-PVG-YVR(Toronto). I am an Indian citizen and layover in Shanghai will be 14 hours. I will need to pick up luggage as the airline cannot store overnight and clear immigration. Will I be allowed 24 hour Transit without Visa?

Also, I heard that 24 TWOV is only allowed to stay in airport..Is this correct? I have a booking at Da Zhong airport hotel which is between terminal 1 and 2. Can I go to hotel without any issue?
