I think it is in their best interest overall, as it's a one-way rental, a weekend rental, and a one-way return rental...so I'd basically be bringing back the same car instead of dropping off two cars out-of province.
I used 1-2-F days on the first one-way and regular free days on the reverse one-way, if that complicates things at all?
As far as I know National won't combine rental contracts but allows you to extend your first rental. I assume you divided a rental into 3 rentals to use coupons and save money so extending doesn't work in your favor as you can't use a coupon twice. You probably can keep the car during the 3 rentals (if you want) but you have to go to National office for each rental contract.
