To reiterate what Dickinson said:

Trip Interruption: You're covered for $500 in expenses when your covered trip is delayed >12 hrs.

Trip Cancellation: You're covered for $5000 in losses for your lost bookings that were charged fully or partially to the card. To be fully covered, you have to charge all or a part of every expense on your trip to your CSP. If you book your award flight and prepay 4/6 hotels with CSP, 2/6 hotels with Citi, and prepay your rental car with AMEX, you're only covered for the flight + the 4 hotels.
