Consequently, I looked at earlier flights and did an SDC to a flight which appeared to have better availability in BF (as it turned out it had R2/RN2 availability, but I did not know that until later). After the change was made, when looking at the new flight online, there was no indication of the RPU "following" her to the new flight, let alone being applied.
It took a call to United (which included of two lengthy holds while the agent consulted with others), but eventually was able to get the already-committed RPU applied to the new flight and get her confirmed in BF (based on R inventory being available).
My question: Should it have taken a phone call to have a previously committed RPU follow the ticket holder to an SDC flight? Based on "rules", did the agent do her a favor? Or should the online system have taken care of it in the first place? Thx.
rpus do not follow sdc or really anything. you need to re-request them. just like anything united you gotta do it 10x over.

the first flight will not be sdc-able unless maybe a generous ua agent has a way of doing it for avianca that never works for lh or sa flights.
other 2 are a non issue once pax is downline assuming tix is 016. in min 6+ isolated incidents (nrt, lhr, lhr, los, iah, yyz) i was able to adjust ua legs on multi-airline itin all 016 without any confusion/apprehension/bewilderment. i have no idea why the wiki says this is against the rules and subject to a generous agent when really it's not against any rules (the tcs say "the itinerary" [ie: what you want to accomplish through this sdc] not "the entire itinerary" must be ua uax)

wow what is your status?
and good to know i will huaca and try again with phone agent for this...i'm doubtful it would work for sa and av though (as ua<>lh systems seem in syinc) but who knows
