Technically, the LAX-JFK segment gives you class of service based access to the AC (or any other oneworld J lounge). Status-based access, however, only applies on same-day connections, and since the MIA-PTY was on the next day, you shouldn't have had access.
Not agreeing with the rule, just pointing out what the rule is.
I'm perfectly fine with that (and I'm not nearly as conversant in the Byzantine access rules as others on FT). Was mostly just sharing my experience.
But given the next-day component of the int'l segment, why was I admitted to QF First?
