Agreed on the mediocre experience. Just stayed here as a Diamond. The rooms are pretty sparse, and have no closet, so for example, they feature an ironing board just leaning against the wall. Also after a certain hour, the front desk/bar no longer sells the full selection, and only sells the items on the "mini bar" menu (for example you can no longer get the microbrew bottles they have, only the Cooper's Lager.) That said, it's fine. Nothing great, but you won't hate it, as long as you aren't expecting a full service hotel.

Diamond benefits as stated on the sheet received at check-in here:

- Continental Breakfast (which means "cold items only" at this buffet. It's supposed to be 6 AUD extra if you eat from the hot buffet. I did each day, but was not charged. Unclear if this was because Diamond, or because nobody was really keeping track.) The breakfast isn't great, but it's of value if this is something you would otherwise pay for, as list price is around 30 AUD.
- Coupon for 1 free house beer or house wine, but only when purchasing a main course at the restaurant.
- "Free nightly turn down service, including 2 bottles of water." Note that the turn down time varies pretty widely (6-8:30 in my experience), and water is replaced during turn down service, not the regular daily service.
- Free premium wifi. They told me to just go through the motions of paying for premium wifi, and it wouldn't appear on my bill, and it actually worked out that way with no trouble, which I find to be rare. The premium wifi was not up to the task of streaming Netflix/HBO Go.
- Room upgrade based on availability. I was upgraded from a standard room to a "city view" room. "City view" in my case meant an alley and some dumpsters, so this is only an upgrade if the standard rooms don't have windows, as suggested earlier in this thread.
- "express check out upon request" -- I did take advantage of this, since I was leaving at 5am, but I can't imagine it's actually a Diamond benefit, as opposed to something anyone could request.
