I'd really much rather them just rip off the oneworld emerald logo off their wall if they're not going to follow the oneworld access rules, rather than having to deal with rude/incompetent lounge dragons. My current theory is that it'd be possible to sue for breach of contract (I bought my ticket expecting to have lounge access, and, it was not provided, perhaps?).
I do not doubt anyone's stories on this frustrating situation. I have never been to the QF lounge so I am relying only on hearsay to form an opinion.
From what I've read, the following is true:
1. Most people think the QF lounge is superior to the AC Flagship lounge in T4, thus, want to visit the QF lounge in TBIT.
2. Admittance to QF lounge in TBIT is a crapshoot, with rules poorly defined, inconsistently applied, poorly trained front desk people and, apparently, management that does not care to properly address the situation.
My question, and I ask from a Devil's Advocate point of view, is why even bother? Why not just go directly to the AC Flagship lounge and not even waste your time arguing with the QF lounge front desk people? Is the quality of the QF lounge that much greater than the Flagship lounge to make it worth the hassle of admittance and wasted time if denied?
You might even send a letter to some kind of QF Customer Service address every time you avoid their lounge. The letter might say "Due to the fact that I have been incorrectly denied entrance in the past, I am choosing to avoid your lounge. Last Tuesday I flew X-Y-Z, and visited the AC Flagship lounge instead of your lounge."
