Thanka for the nice report, and overall I do agree with you! However, I think your "golden rule" re LCC, is a bit more complicated than you put it.

Let me pause and introduce you to my golden rule of flying with low cost carriers: If you absolutely need to be somewhere on a specific day and/or at a specific time, don’t use a low cost carrier. When things go wrong (IRROPS), you are on your own. Full stop.
I do agree in case of serious IRROPS you are better off with legacy carriers. But serious IRROPS are fortunately quite rare.

However, (slight) delays are all too common on any airline. And actually when looking purely at statistics, many LCC have far better on time records than all of the legacy carriers. Of course, using smaller, less congested airports plays a role here. For short hops, I often trust LCCs more than legacy carriers to get me there on time!

In the end, if you really need to be on time for something important, my golden rule is simply to set a day aside for any possible IRROPS and just leave earlier if possible
