LAN canceled my LAX-LIM-EZE (flight 2605) and I could only find one another flight that works best for my schedule.

LAX-LIM arrives 0740, LIM-EZE (flight 4601) departs at 0830. I believe LIM's min connection time is 30 min, so I can legally book this. Related posts in Avianca forum say this is doable, but I want to check that the same applies for LAN. I'm traveling on a coach award with one large backpack only (hiking Patagonia). - Can I do this assuming my flights are on-time?

If I miss the first LIM-EZE flight, I plan to catch the next flight LAN 1449 departing at 1210. Am I right to assume LAN will protect me in this way, as long as the flight isn't already full? - Let me know if this isn't a reasonable assumption for a Thursday flight.
