Gay scene in Karachi!? And I thought Romania was not gay-friendly

I would be really careful with that. Considering many locals' hatred of Americans AND non-acceptance of gays. In addition, I would beware of higher incidence of Hep. B (19.6% in Pakistan) and possibly Hep. A and C, as well as the well known and discussed STDs and HIV.
