Greatest hotel stay ever

I returned from Greece just a couple of weeks ago. I was lucky enough to stay at this fantastic hotel and wish there was a great way to say "Thank-you" to the entire staff. I've stayed in hotels all over the world, but I've never, ever, been treated like I was someone special, like a VIP. I'm Lifetime Plat and this is not my 1st Luxury Collection hotel, nor my last. I just don't think any hotel experience could ever be better.

I'd been following them on social media and reading up on the hotel. I'd received pre-arrival emails and noticed that we'd been upgraded to a Grand Deluxe Suite as far back as March! I stayed on points, only 12K a night with a free 5th night, so imagine my surprise when we walked into the suite and saw that we had Parliament to the left and the Acropolis to the right- a true GRAND DELUXE suite. The living room was beautiful, with wine, water (replenished daily) and chocolates. Even the statue of Athena was made of white chocolate. In the master bedroom, there were 2 bags with my name and my friend's name on them. Inside, was a suede/leather bag I'd seen on Facebook in their gift shop and had commented on weeks earlier. Our names were engraved in gold on the identification tags. Later we saw the bags in the gift shop for 265 euros each. I stayed on points! They were making nothing on me, but still went way out of their way to make our stay amazing.

I have medical problems and needed to keep some vials of medication chilled, so they cleaned out the minibar, and when we asked where we could buy water as I had JUST passed a kidney stone (terrifying as it was days before the trip!) the butler just had a case of bottled water sent to my room. No cost, no bother. They just wanted to make my stay special.

I could go on and on. The suite was beautiful, the 2 bedrooms meant that my best friend and I both had privacy and an area to share, as well as our own bathrooms. I'd dreamt and planned for this trip for months. I never plan that far in advance. But I'm so glad I did. I'm glad I researched all the Starwood hotels, that I asked all these questions. From the PERFECT breakfast buffet on the roof to the fancy Afternoon Tea, to the Molten Brown bath products that I was able to purchase for a great price in their gift shop, this was the best trip of my life. Even the demonstration outside our window with police in full gear lined up in front of the hotel, didn't make a difference to our stay. I always felt safe.

The best part though, was the staff. They were intent on making sure we were taken care of. Anytime I asked for something it arrived promptly, with a call to follow up. The driver we had both ways was kind and helpful. Our butler was amazing. I can't think of anyone who didn't say "Kalimera" when passing us in the halls. It was/is a happy place. I can't wait to go back. I don't know if this is typical of Athens hotels, but it certainly was a dreamlike experience. I wish I knew whom to contact just to let them know that they blew my mind. I SO hope to return one day soon!
