Just got back myself as well. Was lucky enough to go to the Braurosl tent on "gay day" (the first sunday). What a supreme and utter madhouse. Like many of the other tents at Oktoberfest, if you don't have a seat by 10-11am you ain't gettin one and if you're not in the tent by 1pm they might just close it on you and you will have to wait forever to get in.

A crushing madhouse with people (in this case thousands of gay men) standing on benches drinking and singing. It was truly an amazing experience.

PS the two most popular songs were (1) that Las Ketchup song - trust me if you haven't heard it yet you will soon, think the Macarena of '02. I am frightened as my new year's trip to Australia resulted in Kylie Minogue's LaLa song following me around the world for months, and (2) whatever the song is with the refrain "hey hey won't you be my girl" which was of course changed to "hey hey won't you be my boy!" that sunday.
