As far as I know, if you don't show - for whatever reason - you pay the no-show fee if it's after the cancellation deadline. Sometimes individual properties give you a break; sometimes they don't. I find it depends on the circumstances, and most properties have been pretty good about that. But it's up to the individual property. Otherwise, they are simply honouring the contract you entered into with them when you made the booking.
