My understanding is that the cardholder and one companion in the party is allowed one free checked bag each, and as far as I can tell an authorized user is also entitled to one free checked bag as long as s/he is a member of the traveling party (at least this is my interpretation of the FAQs).
Does that mean we can get three free checked bags per flight?

It is the primary cardholder +1 -- no benefit for the other cardholders.

Yes, the system seems to have been updated to conform with the published rules
