I wonder if something like this happened to any of you. Yesterday I tried to book a seat on TK from GZT to IST only to find that there is no seat available on TK site. Called the TK call center, they confirmed that the flight is booked. Asked them to put me on waiting list and kept calling throughout the day hoping that I well get in.

When i checked Orbitz for alternative options, I noticed that Orbitz lists my flight. I was sceptical, thought that maybe Orbitz would sell me the ticket for overbooked flight and I would be screwed. So i waited until check in was open, booked the ticket on Orbitz (risking double reservation) and checked myself in online. It worked and i just boarded the plane.

But i am puzzled that the ticket was available on Orbitz, but not on TK site or through their calling center. Any thoughts?
