I'm not a fan of the Westin, but I'd find it hard to justify wasting 6k points per night for the Hyatt. The Westin has a lot of suites, so as Plat, you're quite likely to get one (unless your BRG rate is too low; they absolutely didn't want to give me a suite last Fall on a sub-$50 rate), plus full breakfast, plus afternoon tea. The Hyatt DSU suites are superior to the Westin suites, but the Westin wins on breakfast. Unless you get a lot of value out of the Hyatt club evening happy hour, you're better off saving your points (buy a couple drinks at the Melia and Courtyard HHs instead).
